Our Bradley Baptist Associational Librarians meet together on a quarterly basis. This time it was our church's turn to be the hostess.
The great thing about it is we have some library workers who also are great at hospitality and serving. One of the women used to cater events so her experience is very helpful.
Three of us brought dishes from home (cut glass - not crystal). Rather than cook, we went to the local stores and bought the best. Don't you love how ruffled lettuce really dresses up a platter?
The potato chips are Lay's. The one in the back is a Tomato Basil. You have to try it. You will become addicted. The one in front was a Parmesan - something - - not as popular - - but the traditional wavy chips and dip are always a hit.

Dessert was an assortment from the Bread Basket Sampler Bakery. There were pumpkin bars, lemon bars, chess bars, oatmeal toffee bars, and brownies. The cookies you recognize.

Our speaker did a phenomenal job! Mike is on our leadership committee at church and told us the path God led them in relocating our church - - - from the idea God planted in their heads to the many, many answers to lots and lots of prayer as they journeyed into uncharted and oftentimes - - unfamiliar territory. It was amazing to see how God's hand orchestrated each step of the way.
And our 'normal' library business followed directly on the heels of the last box of food going out to the relief workers who are still doing cleanup and utility repairs after the tornado. Last week, volunteers at FBC prepared 500 hot lunches for Red Cross Distribution for about a week. In the evening, sandwich meals were sent out. "Chain saw" groups came in for assignments each day and headed out to help anyone who called the church and requested assistance. It has been thrilling to see our church family minister abundantly during this week.
And even though I forgot my camera, I had my phone with me. The pictures look pretty good. Cell phone technology has certainly progressed rapidly and I don't even have the newest one on the market.
